I think you must have many more questions about how caterpillars go through this miraculous process! There must be entomologists who spend a lot of time figuring it out. What else could you do to give more details about how caterpillars make cocoons and turn into pupas?

MF says that they shed their outer skin and that forms into a cocoon.
