400 to 1.16

Over the weekend I did a report about division and multiplucation from 400 to 1.16.

400/2=200
200/2=100
100/2=50
50/2=25
25/2=12.1
12.1/2=6.4
6.4/2=3.8
3.8/2=1.16
CONCLUSION:400/32=1.16
1.16X2=3.8
3.8X2=6.4
6.4X2=12.1
12.1X2=25
25X2=50
50X2=100
100X2=200
200X2=400
CONCLUSION:1.16X32=400
1.16X32=400
32X1.16=400
400/1.16=32
400/32=1.16

  2. This is very interesting BK. I think we should continue to look at the pattern you are working on. First, you are taking all of the numbers and dividing them by 2, which is the same as splitting them in half right? When I talked to you about this, you told me that 25 / 2 is "twelve and a half". That's right, but do we write "twelve and a half" as 12.1? Where could you find the answer to that question?

    So, what does this all mean to you? This sounds really fun to take a 20 x 20 array and cut it in half a bunch of times and see how that division relates to multiplication, but what kind of math is this?

    This is very cool, thanks,
