Fourth graders...

Why were you doing this activity?  What was a challenge about it?  What does this have to do with math?

  2. When you do Irregular Shapes you are finding the area of a crazy shape. It is math because you have to find the area of a shape that is not just a square or a triangle. First we took took 1 inch grid paper and traced the shapes. then we put halves, fourths, and wholes to find the total area of the shape we were using.

First, you trace a shape. Then, you find the area on the 1 inch grid paper.
It is related to math because you are finding the area of something thats not just a square or rectangle.

  4. first you trace a shape then
find the area and add halfs together
and what ever fraction is left you add
so you might get the answer 7 and 1/4.

  5. I traced all kinds of shapes! It was really easy. First, you get a shape and trace It. Second, you find the area of the shape and write the area of the shape in the area above. Then you start to trace another shape all over again. Thats it! M.J.

  6. I was doing this projeect to learn mora about area. I thought this project was farily easy because all you had you had to do was add up whole and half squars. This is math because you are calqulating area and area is math.
