Third and fourth grade students have been discussing summarizing. We don't only summarize in reading, but we summarize often in our everyday lives. We summarize when describing our days, telling about movies or books, and talking about our lives with other people. No one wants to hear every detail.
Write a summary about your weekend. Make sure to tell the readers the important events.
I had a restful, relaxing weekend. On both days I slept in longer than I had in a long time. Football finally started, so I enjoyed watching the games with my dog, Paco. The rest of my weekend was spent reading my book and doing homework. I came back to school Monday feeling well rested.

On Saturday I so much fun, there was this train of wagons, cookies, brownies and even cupcakes eaten in one bite! And the firemen came because someone almost paid money for them to come! Oh my god!!! I had pizza for lunch AND dinner! Awsome!!!! And they had delicous watermelon. Cheese balls wher crumpled to the ground, every last one! The blockparty people would have a hard time cleaning up the cheese balls! LOL

My weekend was relaxing. My favorite parts were, babysitting my sister, buying dog booties, and going to the farmers market. I love my sister so babysitting was fun. The farmers market had the best apples ever. Getting dog booties was a great change for my dog. She can now walk better.

Over the weekend I spent sme time with my cousins hiking in Boulder.We startd off by leaving their house,and goinginto the foothills.Once we parked the car we gathered our food,and our supplies we set off down the trail.Once we walked about the 2nd mile everyone's feet startted to hurt so we took a break for about 3 or 4 minutes then we started walking again.Once we were at the summit we signed our names on a cool scroll,and thn we started to eat our tamales and peaches.We explored the summit for about an hour.We even saw some underwear laying on a rock! On Friday after school I went to my freind Madison's for a sleepover/Corlor Me Mine birthday party. When we got to Color Me Mine we got to choose something we wanted to paint. When we were done painting we went back to Madison's house for pizza,cake,and ice-cream. When we were done with desert,and dinner we had to go get our pajamas on and then we could go watch Matilda. When the movie was over we had to go to bed. The next morning we had the best breakfast ever! That was my weekend. EMC!

On the weekend I had a football game. It was saturday and my brother had a game too, so my dad took him and my mom took me. We went to the practice field to prepare for the game.After that, we went to the game field and took a knee on the side line. Everyone was surprised how we got the first touchdown because it was the first play. That team was so bad we got a point almost every play! The score was 40 to 0 and it was the last play so it was up to us to make the play. boom! We mist. And thats how it ends before I slept in.

My weekend was a busy weekend. On Friday, my friend Elliot had a sleepover at my house. In the morning we had to go drop my dad off at the airport. Then we went to the store. When we were done we came back and rested for the block party. Then we played at the block party, and the next morning we went to the zoo. It was an awesome weekend!

I had a great, restful weekend. I went on a bike ride on Saturday morning, but I was pooped! The whole time I was riding, I was thinking about my couch, and how much I would rather be laying on it. I got home and rushed to Central Park to watch my youngest daughter play soccer. The rest of the day I relaxed a little and watched the US Open tennis tournament on TV. On Sunday, I skipped the bike ride and did some chores around the house. I fixed my sprinklers, got some supplies for hanging a shelf in my daughter's room and hung a few pictures. We baked homemade pizza for dinner and called it a night. Overall, it was an excellent weekend!
ReplyDeleteLast weekend, I flew to NYC to meet my friend. We rode in a carriage through Central Park, laughed with Sean Hayes at the show, "Promises, Promises", and walked across the Brooklyn Bridge to get amazing pizza at Grimaldi's. It was wonderful. I recommend NYC to anyone!!!!

ReplyDeleteall the boys in the class because it is kind of gross. It is about a boy named Bernie that that goes to a school named ROTTON SCHOOL. While he's at school he tries some really stupid stuff,once he turned someone's nose inside out. He was just trying toto win a contest that would take him to the most popular school in the state. Bernie invented a nose vaccumm, but he lost to a machanical couch. To learn more about ROTTON SCHOOL try reading the book.
